My Pastor started a new message series on Sunday. It is based on Romans 12: verses 1 and 2. The Message translation of these is very easy to understand:
12 1-2 So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.”

God wants to do something in and through us so that we can help spread the Gospel.

Merge ALL of who you are.

See, some folks, try to put their life in compartments. They have a work life over here, a family life over there, friendships in this space, and church life on Sundays. That’s not how we are supposed to live. It’s all ONE life.

You do not have to be perfect. None of us are and never will be.

It is about being real and authentic in the relationships you have.

If you are a different person during work hours than you are at home, you’ve got a problem. It means you are being fake at one of those places.

We need to live real and authentically so that we can impact the lives of the people God has put around us. You are important. You are here for a reason, and the people in your life are there for a reason.
