11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.” Romans 14:11 KJV

This is a message my Pastor taught on Sunday. I have never in my whole life heard a message on this topic!  It was the last in his series, “You Asked For It” People wrote in and asked why didn’t God just reveal Himself to everyone… that way we would all know He’s real. And why does He stay invisible anyway?

When God was creating the world, He spoke and it was so. However, when He created man, He took His time. He formed man from the clay, then He breathed life into his lungs.

God wants a personal relationship with us. We are special to Him. So, this brings another question… why create the tree of the knowledge of good and evil?

God created that tree in order to give Adam and Eve free will. Otherwise, He would be forcing them to love Him. We all know that a forced relationship doesn’t work. There is no genuine love if it’s forced.

He stays invisible because of the Scripture I posted above. If He didn’t, everyone would bow and confess Him as Lord. We wouldn’t have a choice. Once again, that would be a forced relationship.

Josh said, “God is present enough so that those who want to experience Him can. And He’s just absent enough to those who don’t want Him don’t have to see Him.”

Sometimes, it’s all in what we see. Josh showed us a slide that said,  “GODISNOWHERE”.

You can see it as “God is now here.” Or “God is no where.”

You have the free will to see things however you want to. For me, when I see clouds, sun sets and sunrises, I can’t help but think of God. Nature pulls my mind and heart to Him.

Others, not so much. They just see those as a part of their lives.

The truth of the matter here is without faith, you can’t believe in God. The good news is, we all actually have faith. Even if it’s just a little bit.

Atheists, for example, have faith. They believe there isn’t a God at all. That actually takes faith. Some people are science junkies and believe all it says about creation, etc. They have placed their faith in those scientists, because the truth is, they have never carbon dated a rock or seen millions of galaxies. They just believe and have faith in what they hear or read.

Can we talk about how driving a vehicle takes faith? I mean, seriously. You have to trust crazy people to stay out of your lane, or maybe let you in a long line. We have faith every time we get behind the wheel.

With our Christian faith, we believe in the God who created it all by reading His Word and believing what it says. We have the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us. It’s all by faith.

God wants to have a relationship with everyone…but He will not force it. And He can not show Himself to the world, or they would all be forced.

He loves you so! If you don’t have a relationship with Him, why not talk to Him today? He’s listening.

God bless you today and always!
