This post is another part of yesterdays from my Pastor’s Sunday message. It might have a few of the same things, but I felt like it needed to be said.

For whatever reason, when bad things happen to us, a lot of people blame God. Even with insurance issues… let’s say lightening hits your house. It’s labeled as “An Act of God”. I guess we want someone to blame..but honestly He is not the right person.

We should try to live with joy and peace. Keeping these things in mind might help.

1. Bad things turn around for our good
     A. All things happen: we live in a fallen world. We can not assume that bad things are from God. Don’t think because you follow God, that bad things won’t happen to you. Even as Christians, things do not work out the way we think they should.

    B. When things work together it is because of God. God does good to us! Are you in good health? Thank God! Do you have someone who loves you? Thank God! Do you have a job? Thank God!

    C. Think long term. The promise from God is not for better circumstances, but He promises us a better life. He takes the bad and turns it around for our good. We are short term thinkers. Patience is a virtue.

50% of our disappointment is based on the surprise that bad things happen. Do not always look for bad things to happen, that’s not fun. No matter what people, the enemy, or life throws at you, let it make you and not destroy you!

2. Good things can never be lost!

    A. God’s grace graces us with wonderful things – but that’s not the promise either. He suffered so when we do we will know that He is with us. He will never leave us either!

3. The best is yet to come!

People might try to tear your life apart… do not let them. When you walk with Jesus, you have the best! Trust Him and let Him help you through the difficult stuff.

One of my favorite Scriptures is Isaiah 41:10, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
