“Your word is a lamp for my feet,
a light on my path.” Psalm 119: 105
Words are important. What we think, read, and listen to really affects us whether we realize it or not. For several years now, I have joined in thousands of others in praying for a word for the year and concentrating on it all year.
Your word might not be “Scripture”, and that’s ok. The thing is, you study that word, you pay attention every time it pops up during the year, and you apply it to your life in whatever way you see fit.
I will be straight up honest. I don’t remember my word for this year.
This year has really be a rough one for me and a lot of my family and friends.
Funny thing is, I remember one of my friend’s words. PEACE I even started seeing it a lot myself at the first of the year.
She said she learned a lot about peace this year. So much so that it would take a long time to tell me. I told her she should write a book! If her experience can help some of us learn about peace, that is worth it!
I have a feeling that 2019 is going to be MUCH better for me. Even if we do have bad weather issues, I am planning on being more prepared than I was… and since we went through a Category 3 hurricane this year, I know we can survive if it happens again.
I started asking God what my word should be for next year a few weeks ago.
Twice I felt like He said “faithful”.
Faithful as defined from dictionary.com as:
- strict or thorough in the performance of duty:a faithful worker.
- true to one’s word, promises, vows, etc.
- steady in allegiance or affection; loyal; constant:faithful friends.
That is what God is to us. He is true to His Word! He KEEPS His promises! He loves us and He is loyal to us.
God has been faithful to me all of 2018 no matter what I’ve been through!
I think He wants to remind me all of 2019 that He will continue to be faithful.
What’s your word going to be? Pray about and let me know what you hear.
I love hearing everyone’s words.
God bless you today and always!
