Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.” Joshua 1:8 NLT

I read this Scripture and thought, “That’s it! The key to a prosperous life!”

I am a nerd, and I enjoy Sci-fi movies and TV Shows. The first time I heard the word “prosper” when I was when Spock said it on Star Trek, “Live long and prosper.” (Years later, I found out that this is actually a Jewish blessing. Leonard Nimoy was Jewish and he thought Spock needed a tag line.)

This Scripture in Joshua is the Old Testament, but I think what it says is still true for us.

I don’t know about you, but right about now, I could use some prosperity in my life! LOL

If we study the Bible CONTINUALLY. Not on occasion. If we meditate on it DAY and NIGHT. If we OBEY everything written in it. THEN we will prosper.

Of course, the Holy Spirit needs to lead and guide us through this process. But we need to be doing what this says.

It’s not about keeping rules. It’s about studying the Word and living out it’s principles.

Now, let me be sure you realize this… this does NOT mean that life will be easy.

Jesus told us that we would have trouble in life. In John, 16:33 He said, “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

Things will happen, but to be grounded in faith, and to prosper in your life, do what this verse says in Joshua. I am and let me tell you, during one of the most difficult times of my life, God keeps showing up. He is faithful!

God bless you today and always!
