I have not written on here in so long! I have missed writing. Today, I was catching up on my Scripture writing and these verses just had a huge impact on me, so if you know me, I had to share.

Right now, Hurricane Florence is flooding North and South Carolina. I am praying for everyone I know in those states. I’m sure, at this point, they are pretty down and very worried. I pray for provision and that God will see you all through! (If you live in that area, keep reading, because you will be God’s hands and feet when you go out to help after the storm.)

There are so many negative things that can happen in our lives that cause us to struggle. Living through a physical storm like this hurricane is just one example.

Death, divorce, and unemployment are just 3 things that come to mind as I write this.Grief, depression, anxiety, worry, fear, and rejection come with some of these life situations.

However, you DO NOT have to stay in that place.

I love it when God puts what I call an “IF / THEN” promise in the Bible. These Scriptures are one of those promises.

“Share your food with the hungry, and give shelter to the homeless. Give clothes to those who need them, and do not hide from relatives who need your help.

Then your salvation will come like the dawn and your wounds will quickly heal. Your godliness will lead you forward, and the glory of the LORD will protect you from behind.” Isaiah 58:7-8 NLT

I want to show you what the Jewish Bible says too:

“It is to share your bread with the hungry, and to take the wretched poor into your home; when you see the naked, to clothe him, and not to ignore you own kin.

Then shall your light burst through like the dawn and your healing spring up quickly; your Vindicator shall march before you, the Presence of the LORD shall be your rear guard.” Isaiah 58:7-8 Jewish Bible

I LOVE verse 8 in the Jewish Bible!

Let me just say, I want God’s light to burst forth and I am THANKFUL He is my rear guard! I don’t want to do things just for MY healing, because that is not how we should do things. I will take this promise though!

What God is saying here is when we help others, it does heal us! How cool is that?

IF we do this for others, THEN He will heal us. My old Pastor Jason Spears used to say, “If you are having a hard time, go do something for someone else who is worse off than you are.”

I know how life can get you down. I’ve been there! Heck, the last 5 years of my life could be  a country song! LOL

BUT… I choose to keep moving forward. I choose to help others, do for others, serve, love, pray, and grow so that I won’t be stuck in the mess.

I don’t want to be stuck. I don’t want to just wallow in depression, anxiety, or sadness.

If you are dealing with any of this, take my advice, follow God’s Word and do what it says! He will ALWAYS keep His promises. IF you help someone THEN He will heal you. I believe that with all of my heart.

As always, if you need prayer, please contact me. I’d love to pray for you.

God bless you today and always!
