“After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.” 1 Kings 19:12
A week ago tonight my town and all of the surrounding towns experienced something we never thought we would.
Please realize something… I am at least 3 1/2 hours from the coast of FL.
Usually when a hurricane hits, we end up with a tropical storm. Not this time.
A category 3 hurricane tore through my community.
Some of my friends in Florida have it worse than we do. I went 5 days without power. A week later, and after 100% of my friend’s county was without power, only 2% has been restored.
In some areas of my town, they just got power back today.
The damage is WIDE spread. It’s not singled out like the tornado we had in 2017.
I do not, for one second, think that God sent that hurricane. He is not that type of God.
He is in the whisper. Jesus NEVER caused storms. He CALMED them.
I pray that no one blames God for this.
Also, I pray that people will turn to God through this. I hope that we will pull together as a community and body of believers and help each other.
NO ONE was untouched by this. Everyone has a story and the emotions to go with it.
We are tired.
We are weary.
We are sad.
We are happy.
It’s like an emotional roller coaster.
There are tress just uprooted and pushed over, while other trees are snapped in half. Many limbs and logs are out by the edges of the roads now.
At the gas stations down the road from me… one has an awning that blew away over to the church next door, while the other one is bent and has a corner on the ground.
Will you please join me in prayer over these areas? This was a HUGE hurricane and so many places are affected.
I hope that revival starts from this! I pray that the church will be the church and reach out to those in need and share the love of God with them. This is our time!
Let’s shine for Jesus!
God bless you today and always!
