A couple of Saturdays ago, I had the pleasure of watching the movie War Room with some friends.

I have waited to write about it because I didn’t want to spoil the movie for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet. I pray I don’t ruin it if you haven’t seen it yet.

I knew going in that there was a marriage issue, and I figured it was going to be resolved. I prayed for my marriage but he didn’t stay. I am not mad at God about that at all. I just knew that it might sting a little. I wasn’t prepared for another part of the movie. Their little girl didn’t feel loved by her parents. It really hit me hard. I never want my children to feel unloved. Because they are loved very much.

What I learned from that movie and the prayer conference at my work, was HOW to pray. How to fight the enemy on my knees. I also learned that praying Scriptures is powerful!

I already mentioned one in a previous blog post. What I am doing, is finding Scriptures to pray over different areas in my life.

I am still reading through Proverbs daily. Today’s had several that jumped out at me for my kids. They fight too much. They call each other names, raise their voices, etc. It breaks my heart each time. I found these two Scriptures in Proverbs 12, verses 18 & 25, and here is how I will pray them for my children:

“Father, help my children realize that reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. Remind them that an anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up. Let them be nice to each other today. In Jesus name, amen.”

It’s not a name it and claim it thing… it’s a promise, a Scripture that God wants us to know about, and it’s praying that over ourselves or others.

Paul wrote in Ephesians 6:12 this, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

I have said it before, and I will say it again. If you aren’t a Christian, the enemy has you right where he wants you. He likes that. But if you are a Christian, he will fight you because he can’t get your soul… therefore, he will do everything he can to keep you away from God.

This is why we fight in prayer.

The war room concept is based on actual war and the rooms that they use to set up maps and create strategies to win the war.

In the movie, they use their closets. I need to clean mine out again, but for now, I have things written on notecards to pray over. My best friend doesn’t have the closet space, so she created a War Room notebook for herself. There are several ways to do this, even without a closet.

I love how God works. My Jesus Calling devotional today mentions this. When it was published, the movie wasn’t even out. So this shows you how God works. He knows all.

“Spending time alone with Me can be a difficult discipline because it goes against the activity addiction of this age. You may appear to be doing nothing, but actually you are participating in battles going on within spiritual realms. You are waging warnot with the weapons of the world, but with heavenly weapons, which have divine power to demolish strong holds. Living close to Me is a sure defense against evil.”

Can I get a yes, amen, and thanks be to God for that??

If you haven’t seen the movie, I highly recommend me. Our country is in trouble. We need revival! We need all Christians to join together in prayer as one for healing of our nation.

Pray for the people in your life. Find Scriptures and pray them! If you need help, I’m not an expert, but I would love to help you. I enjoy praying for others as well.  Let me know how I can pray for you.
